Niño ELA Centres Re-open Following the Easing of Stage 4 Restrictions

Niño ELA is thrilled to be able to provide services again for all children from today, Monday 28th September. This follows Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews announcement of the next steps on the COVID-19 recovery roadmap.

For childcare services in Metropolitan Melbourne, this includes:

  • The re-opening of childcare centres for all children from Monday 28th September 2020.
  • A permitted worker permit will no longer be required, with services open to all workers.

It is very important that children are able to attend on-site as soon as possible, in line with the easing of restrictions. Having your child attending in person is the best way to support their wellbeing, learning and development.

Some families may feel anxious about bringing their children back to our service. The advice from the Victorian Chief Health Officer and the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) is that ECEC services are low-risk environments, and they can operate with appropriate health and safety measures in place – unless otherwise instructed by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

Thank you for your ongoing support during these past months as we have all worked together to slow the spread of COVID-19, and for your efforts to stay connected with our service while supporting your child’s learning, play, curiosity and wellbeing.

We look forward to seeing and welcoming you all back.
