Inclusive Education at Niño ELA
At Niño ELA, our goal is to ensure that all children are provided the highest level of care and education in supporting them along their educational journey. With a focus on ‘flourishing’, Niño ELA’s positive education curriculum utilises the six domains of wellbeing in celebrating children’s strengths, supporting children’s social and emotional wellbeing and providing opportunities to build upon resilience, love of learning, persistence and grit.
What is Inclusive Education?
At Niño ELA, we recognise and value the diversity of all children, promoting equal opportunities for all, regardless of race, gender, socioeconomic status, ability or language. We place importance in ensuring that we provide ‘Inclusive Education’ opportunities for all children providing equal educational opportunities and support for all children, regardless of their background, abilities or disabilities. We aim to ensure that every child, regardless of their individual characteristics or circumstances, can fully participate in the learning program alongside their peers.
Niño ELA‘s goal in providing an inclusive educational program is to ensure that every child has access to quality education, feels valued and included and can achieve their full potential. We recognise that diversity is a strength and that by embracing and supporting all children, society as a whole benefit from their unique contributions. We promote the social inclusion of all children, encouraging an environment of acceptance, respect, and understanding, helping to build a sense of community, belonging and a true care for one another.
We believe that regular communication with families is essential in addressing individual children’s needs and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Establishing opportunities for educators, families, and external professionals (such as therapists, doctors, or specialists) to work closely in collaboration, creates an inclusive and supportive learning environment for children. Educators work closely with support services following individualised support strategies based on the child’s needs to ensure consistency of care between home and the classroom.
At Niño ELA, we create a welcoming and inclusive environment to support all children to thrive. Educator training and professional development is provided to enhance educators understanding and ability in supporting children’s additional needs, crucial to ensure their inclusion and overall development.
Niño ELA’s positive education curriculum is adaptable in catering to the individual needs and interests of each child, our ‘learning through play’ philosophy allows for modification of activities, provision of additional support or offering alternative options to ensure meaningful engagement.
